Throughout the business, there is a commitment to sustainability and a desire to embed this within their DNA. The natural world features as a prominent pillar of their wider sustainability strategy, and within this is their commitment to reducing carbon emissions across the organisation and throughout their supply chain.
This focus on carbon reduction is a top priority and we spoke about this to Sarah MacNab, Head of Social Value at Bloom about their purpose behind their interest in carbon, how they have found working with CBN Expert and what their plans are for the future.
.
So, what was your motivation for beginning your Net Zero journey?
Sarah tells us: “We recognise the importance of making a full and lasting commitment to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions from our activities, in support of the wider commitment of the world to limit global temperature increases and the impact on the planet. We are at the beginning of our transition to become a Net Zero business and we pledge to taking action and working with our colleagues, suppliers and clients to collaborate and reduce our carbon footprint.”
In order to achieve their ambitions, Bloom realised they needed to formalise their carbon measurement process. and were introduced to the CBN Expert Carbon Accounting Software by Net Zero International, their Net Zero consultancy that they work with and Sarah tells us they have been delighted with the process.
Sarah advises ,“Using the CBN Expert platform allows us to take all our data, provide consistent measurement and tracking, and has also enabled us to showcase our targets and achievements. The downloadable reports provide us with great imagery to sit alongside our commentary, helping us to visually showcase our impact. . We are able to produce high quality reports for our Board; we send out quarterly reports to our clients and use the images to showcase our progress externally via our social media platforms.”
It was also important to Bloom that there was credibility attached to the reports that they were distributing. Sarah also advises: “As CBN Expert is a partner of the United Nations Race to Zero programme, it gives integrity to what we are trying to achieve and it’s good to be working alongside like-minded organisations.”
