National Federation of Builders (NFB)

the NFB's approach to carbon reduction helps you realise both the commercial and environmental benefits of becoming a net zero organisation.

The National Federation of Builders (NFB) represents builders, contracts and house builders across England and Wales. With over 1400 members of all sizes and turnovers, the NFB provides expert advice, representation, training and business services in line with industry standards.

In their ‘Transforming Construction – Delivering a low carbon future. A Handbook for main contractors’ published in 2020, the NFB Chair Mark Wakeford reports that they intend to ‘arm colleagues across the industry with the tools they need to start or accelerate their decarbonisation journey.’ He stressed that it is important that as an industry group a collaborative approach is needed to deliver our country’s net zero ambitions. Also, that is was critical that any business, at whatever stage of their decarbonisation journey, should be able to join.

CBN Expert have partnered with the NFB over the last 18 months to deliver exactly this vision. The software allows data to be uploaded simply and carbon emissions measured and tracked monthly , on a company or project by project basis. The unique dashboard displays the data in a visual and easily understandable format that can then be shared with clients and added to tenders.

“The NFB are committed to supporting our members and the wider industry to achieve their Net Zero goals and ensure that the industry is leading the way in achieving our carbon reduction goals.

We chose to work with CBN Expert as our partner as not only are they technologically sound but were able to support our members and us in a straight forward, easy to understand and implement way.”

Danny Clarke, Commercial Director, NFB

All this carbon data is independently verified and audited and is given the futureNetZero Standard Accreditation.
